50 Word Stories

Procrastinate

  • Wake up. Time check. Get off the bed. To the sink. Wash face. Stare into the mirror. Brush teeth. Now, to the shower. Clean self. Out of the shower get dressed. Sit in front of the dresser. Make up. To the kitchen, breakfast. To school, young lady! You are late.

Happy Birthday

  • Excited, she rips off the wrapping paper that blankets the surprise underneath. Part of the surprise peeks out of random holes created as she tears the pretty paper apart. And when she sees the present altogether, a huge smile began tattooing to her face. It is what she really wants.

Teenage Dirtbag

  • He approaches her, unknowing what he’ll get. “Even if she says no, I shall not regret it. I am making my effort. And maybe this time she’ll fall in love,” he says to himself. He stands there, offering a hand. “May I have this dance?” His eyes searching hers. “Yes.”

Blank

  • Pens writing away. A few are tapping on the tables a few times before they begin to scribe. He sits there, hand still, pen statue. Staring at the blanks before him, mind just as blank as they are. Clock ticking, beads of perspiration dripping. Three, two, one. “Time’s up.”

Gone

  • She shakes him frantically, so hard. Stay alive, please, stay alive. He lies on her lap, lingering between life and death. His blood still flowing profusely from the side of his head and onto her blouse and her skirt. The rain soaks them and then he gives his last breath.

Number three is the strongest piece, although I’m not so sure about your choice of the title. Is it really about a teenage dirtbag?

Inspired by a song with that title.
